Megger MIT515 5kV go/no-go Insulation Resistance Tester
The Megger MIT5XX range of insulation testers are targeted at Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) and industrial companies who require a tester that is tough, very easy to use and reliable.
The Megger MIT515 is the entry level tester in the series and provides Megger ruggedness and performance at an affordable price, without compromising on safety.

All terminals are rated to CAT IV 600V, with locking lead connections to prevent leads accidentally being pulled out while a system is under test. It also features the same dual case design as other testers in the Megger MIT range. The unique design means the case lid can be removed when using the tester, allowing easier access to the tester’s buttons and dials. When closed, the lid provides the unit with IP65 protections against moisture and dust ingress. Furthermore the lid provides protection from everyday knocks and scrapes whilst being transported or out in the field.
Simple rotary dial and button operation means the MIT515 is exceptionally easy to use and no time is lost remembering how to use the device. A graphical quick start guide is also provided on the inside of the lid to help first time users as well as existing users after extended periods of not using the instrument.
The Megger MIT range of testers also use rapid charge Li-ion batteries which provide up to 6 hours continuous use (MIT515 and MIT525) from a single charge (charging takes approximately 2 hours). The MIT515 can also harness its power from the line power if the batteries are dead. The screen on the unit is back lit for use in poor lighting and also countersunk to provide added protection if dropped on flat surfaces.
Five pre-set voltage ranges are provided in insulation test mode, plus a user settable lock voltage range. Preconfigured diagnostic tests include Polarisation Index (PI) and Dielectric Absorption Ratio (DAR).
The 3 x 3m lead set supplied as standard with the MIT515 includes croc clips designed for clamping on to larger diameter test pieces. They are also built for everyday use and have a long service life. The locking plug design and none removable croc clips add to the safety features of the Megger MIT series.
