Megger DCI3 Cable and Phase Identification System
The Megger DCI3 Cable and Phase Identification System helps teams identify cables and phases before cutting, jointing, splicing, or repair work. It supports safe checks on de-energised cables and live low-voltage cables when used with the optional LCI transmitter. As a result, site teams can reduce the risk of wrong cable work, equipment damage, and service interruption.
Operators can use the system on utility networks, rail sites, renewable energy plants, cable contractor projects, and industrial facilities. It is designed for clear cable selection within bundles, even when cable routes are long. In cable identification mode, the transmitter uses a 50 V DC pulse with up to 25 A pulse current.
Safer Grounded Working
Megger DCI3 lets teams identify phases while cable ends stay grounded. This improves field safety and helps protect personnel during network work. In addition, passive clamp technology detects phases securely without removing the ground connection.
The system identifies cable lengths up to 30 km, so teams can use it on larger networks and long route checks. Optional 150 mm flexible clamps help users work around larger cable sections and tight cabinet spaces. This gives engineers more choice when access is limited or conductors are hard to reach.
Field Use and Live Cable Support
Fast setup helps crews complete checks with less delay. The touchscreen and rotary encoder give simple control in the field, while the compact design supports regular transport between sites. The Megger DCI3 Cable and Phase Identification System also uses a rechargeable lithium-ion battery for practical daily use.
With the optional LCI TX, the system can identify phase to phase on energised cables from 100 to 440 V AC. It runs at 50/60 Hz and delivers an 80 A pulse current for live low-voltage work. Therefore, the Megger DCI3 Cable and Phase Identification System can support both planned outage work and checks where service continuity matters.
