The EA Technology PT1 Polarity Test Pen detects the electrical field around a live low-voltage insulated conductor. Its focused detection allows the pen to distinguish between live and non-live conductors, including individual conductors within cable bundles. The tip illuminates only when it is within 3 mm of the live core of a standard 3 mm conductor, helping the user identify the required conductor.

Designed for standard 220–250 V, 50/60 Hz supplies, the EA Technology PT1 Polarity Test Pen does not need current to be flowing through the live conductor. A daylight LED provides a clear visual indication when an electrical field is detected, while an audible buzzer gives an additional alert. This combination gives the user both visible and audible confirmation during conductor checks.

Compact pen-style construction makes the tester simple to carry in a pocket or work bag. The rugged body includes a pen-style pocket clip and operates from two standard AAA batteries, which are included.
