ACT 1313-Plus Advanced 12V Spike Suppressor

The ACT 1313-Plus Advanced 12V Spike Suppressor protects alarm control equipment and powered detection devices connected to 12V DC circuits. It eliminates induced AC from connected DC power cables and attenuates RFI by up to 60dB, helping to prevent false alarms caused by electrical interference. It also clamps 12VDC supply spikes before they reach the control panel, alarm detectors and plug-on communicators.

A bi-colour LED makes fault finding easier by immediately indicating a potential DC power overload or low resistance fault on a connected cable. The LED shows green when it detects no faults and red when it detects a fault. If the red LED lights, disconnect the connected DC power cables one at a time to help identify the troublesome circuit.

Install the ACT 1313-Plus Advanced 12V Spike Suppressor directly between the control panel or PSU auxiliary 12VDC supply and the powered detection devices. Twin terminal blocks with two Red+ and two Black- connections make it easier to group and connect power cables, while the green connection connects to mains Earth. Fit one unit at the control panel and each PSU to provide spike suppression, interference reduction and DC cable fault indication, with a maximum rating of 1.5A at 12VDC.

Key Benefits
  • Helps prevent false alarms caused by induced AC and radio frequency interference on DC power cables.
  • Attenuates RFI by up to 60dB on connected DC power circuits.
  • Clamps spikes on the 12VDC supply before they reach connected alarm equipment.
  • Bi-colour LED indication makes potential overload and low resistance cable faults easier to identify.
  • Green and red status indications provide a quick visual check of connected DC power circuits.
  • Supports straightforward fault finding by allowing connected cables to be disconnected individually when a fault is shown.
  • Twin terminal blocks help group multiple power cables and simplify connection at the control panel or PSU.
  • Suitable for use with motion detectors and other powered 12V detection devices.
  • One unit can be fitted to the control panel and to each PSU within the installation.

Common Applications

ACT 1313-Plus Advanced 12V Spike Suppressor is suitable for a range of alarm power protection, maintenance and fault-finding tasks, including:

  • Protecting 12V alarm control panel auxiliary power circuits.
  • Protecting powered motion detector supply cables.
  • Protecting other 12V powered detection devices.
  • Reducing induced AC on DC alarm power cables.
  • Reducing RFI on connected DC power circuits.
  • Clamping 12VDC supply spikes to alarm detectors and control equipment.
  • Protecting the supply to plug-on communicators.
  • Identifying potential DC power overload or low resistance cable faults.
  • Grouping multiple DC power cables at a control panel or PSU.

Why Choose This Model?

The ACT 1313-Plus Advanced 12V Spike Suppressor combines induced AC elimination, up to 60dB RFI attenuation, 12VDC spike clamping and visual DC cable fault indication in one unit. Twin power terminals also make it easier to group and connect multiple power cables at a control panel or PSU.

ACT 1313-Plus Advanced 12V Spike Suppressor

The ACT 1313-Plus Advanced 12V Spike Suppressor is designed to protect alarm control equipment and powered detection devices connected to 12V DC circuits. It eliminates induced AC on connected DC power cables and attenuates RFI by up to 60dB, helping to prevent false alarms caused by electrical interference. It also clamps 12VDC supply spikes that could otherwise reach the control panel, alarm detectors and plug-on communicators.

Fault finding is made easier through a bi-colour LED that gives an immediate indication of a potential DC power overload or low resistance fault on a connected cable. A green indication shows that no faults are present, while a red indication shows that a fault exists. When the red LED is lit, connected DC power cables can be disconnected one at a time to help identify the troublesome circuit.

The ACT 1313-Plus Advanced 12V Spike Suppressor connects directly between the control panel or PSU auxiliary 12VDC supply and powered detection devices. Twin terminal blocks with two Red+ and two Black- connections allow power cables to be grouped and connected more easily, while the green connection is used for mains Earth. One unit is used at the control panel and at each PSU, providing spike suppression, interference reduction and DC cable fault indication in a single device rated to a maximum of 1.5A at 12VDC.
