Our Cable Avoidance Training covers the essentials of detecting underground cables.
It is a requirement for anyone who is penetrating the ground for any reason.
Cable avoidance tools are becoming more sophisticated with each passing year, however the user of this equipment must be able to understand the basic principles and its correct usage, as well as its limitations in order to maximise its effectiveness.
This course will introduce you to both the theoretical and practical side of this subject.
The course commences by looking at both legislation and published guidance available on the subject of the identification and avoidance of underground services, including what is / what is not locatable.
Course sections also cover: preparatory map research, plus examples of street works and site surveys. With explanations of the various detection modes and location techniques required for a methodical and safe CAT surveys.
This course will give delegates a clear understanding of the importance of a methodical approach when surveying and locating underground services, along with the correct operation of cable avoidance tools, and signal generators in their various modes of operation.
