Megger MPAC128 Acoustic Imager
The Megger MPAC128 Acoustic Imager is a cutting-edge device designed to visualise hazardous and costly conditions from a safe distance. With the ability to detect and locate gas leaks and partial discharge threats up to 120 metres away, this imager utilises 128 MEMS microphone sensors to quickly and clearly identify emissions. The intuitive interface, featuring only two parameters to set, simplifies operation, enabling users to produce leak rate quantifications for cost estimations and utilise Phase Resolved Partial Discharge (PRPD) for distinguishing different types of partial discharges.
This advanced imager boasts a focus function that minimises unwanted noise in loud environments and converts ultrasonic monitoring sounds into audible sounds for precise leak pinpointing. Its 8-megapixel optical camera resolution captures detailed measurements, which are displayed on a 7-inch capacitive touch screen with a 1024 x 600 resolution. The device’s IP54 rating and wide operating temperature range of -20 to 50 degrees make it suitable for extreme working conditions.
The MPAC128 features 8GB of internal storage for images, audio, and video files, which can be exported via microSD card or USB-C memory stick. The device operates within a frequency band of 2kHz to 48kHz and offers a user-adjustable dynamic range of 0.5dB to 12dB. Its Field of View (FOV) of 62º horizontal and 48º vertical, along with a nominal frame rate of 25 fps, ensures that the on-screen image is refreshed 25 times per second for continuous monitoring.
Powered by a 6600 mAh, 7.2 V rechargeable Li-ion battery, the MPAC128 provides up to four hours of usage under full load. It also features user-selectable Sleep/Auto power-off functions to preserve battery life. Firmware updates are easily managed via USB-C or microSD card, and users can access free Acoustic Analysis Software from Megger to enhance their analysis capabilities.
