Megger TDR500/3 Cable Fault Locator
The Megger TDR500/3 Cable Fault Locator helps engineers find cable faults quickly and with confidence. It is designed for metallic cable systems used in both data and power applications. With a maximum range of 5 km, it provides reliable fault location across a wide variety of installations.
Simple controls make daily testing easier and faster. The rotary dial and cursor keys allow quick navigation, while automatic setup reduces preparation time. In addition, the high-contrast backlit display remains easy to read in poor lighting conditions.
Accurate Fault Location
Using advanced time domain reflectometry technology, the Megger TDR500/3 Cable Fault Locator identifies cable faults with excellent precision. Resolution down to 0.1 m helps users pinpoint problem areas more accurately. Variable velocity factor settings from 0.2 to 0.99 also allow measurements to be matched to different cable types.
Selectable impedance matching for 25Ω, 50Ω, 75Ω and 100Ω cables increases measurement flexibility. The trace hold function stores live trace readings for later comparison. Furthermore, automatic TX Null operation helps simplify testing and improve efficiency in the field.
Built for Site and Field Work
An IP54-rated housing helps protect the instrument against dust and water splashes. The compact design weighs only 600 g, making it easy to carry between jobs. A hard carry case is also available as part of one accessory set for added protection during transport.
The Megger TDR500/3 Cable Fault Locator operates for up to 14 hours using five AA batteries. Automatic power-down and backlight timeout functions help extend battery life during use. For additional flexibility, two accessory set options are available, including a standard test lead set and an optional fused test lead set for live system applications up to 150 V CAT IV when used as specified.
