Drummond MTL10PD-S Test Lamp and Proving Unit

The Drummond MTL10PD-S Test Lamp & Proving Unit Kit is an all-encompassing solution for electrical testing, combining safety and efficiency. This comprehensive kit includes the MTL10 Test Lamp, renowned for its reliable voltage indication and robust design that complies with GS38 and relevant safety standards. The kit also features the Martindale PD440 Proving Unit, essential for verifying the functionality of voltage indicators in line with Health & Safety recommendations. Additionally, the kit comes with a durable carry case, ensuring that the components are securely housed and easily transportable. This integration of the Proving Unit and Voltage Indicator in one kit makes it an invaluable tool for professionals, guaranteeing both the accuracy of measurements and the safety of the user.

MTL10 Test Lamp

The MTL10 actively ensures safe voltage indication between 50V and 500V AC/DC. Its robust design adheres to the Health and Safety Executive’s guidance notes on the electrician’s test lamp (GS38) and complies with both BS EN 61243-3 and BS EN 61010 standards. The lamp housing and probe feature a finger shield and an insulated probe tip, exposing only 4mm of metal. Additionally, the cable’s two-layer double insulation, with a white inner layer, clearly signals any abrasion that might risk the user’s safety and is resistant to heat and oil.

For versatile use, the kit includes a right-angled probe tip along with two straight tips. Enhancing ease of use, the right-angled probes can rotate through 90, 180, and 270 degrees. The tool’s four distinct bands of illumination, offering a 360-degree viewing angle, provide clear voltage indication above 50, 100, 200, and 400 volts, even in bright sunlight. This feature allows accurate identification of potentially lethal voltages at 50V and assists the user in distinguishing between 110V, 230V, and phase-to-phase voltages in a 3 phase system.
