Fluke SMFT-1000 Solar Multifunction PV Analyser

Fluke designed the SMFT-1000 Solar PV Multifunction Tester and I-V Curve Tracer specifically for PV professionals in commercial and industrial industries with PV systems operating at 1000V DC or lower. This versatile tool offers comprehensive testing capabilities, including full sequence testing to IEC 62446-1 Category 1 standards and system performance testing to IEC 62446-1 Category 2 standards.

User-Friendly Interface and Auto Test Mode

Featuring a vibrant color screen and an integrated interface, the SMFT-1000 provides on-screen instructions that guide users through the testing process effortlessly. The Auto Test mode enables automatic sequence testing with various combinations, such as with or without insulation tests, and supports IEC 62446-1 testing for both Category 1 and Category 2 systems. Additionally, the SMFT-1000 is capable of testing protective resistance, voltage on an open circuit including polarity, short circuit current, and insulation resistance for Category 1 testing, while also offering capabilities to test irradiance, temperature, tilt, and cardinal directions for Category 2 testing.

With a safety rating of CAT III 1000V DC and CAT III 700V AC, the Fluke SMFT-1000 ensures reliable and accurate measurements. Its unique “keep the leads” system eliminates the need for frequent configuration changes, saving time and reducing errors during PV system testing.

Enhanced Functionality with I-V Curve Tracer and Wireless Irradiance Meter

The Fluke SMFT-1000 also includes an in-built I-V Curve Tracer which allows users to perform precise I-V curve tracing. In case of any deviations from the expected system performance, the tracer alerts the user both visually and audibly, enabling further analysis to be conducted in accordance with IEC 62446-1 Category 2 standards. With the ability to conduct insulation and resistance testing up to 1000V, this feature enhances the overall functionality of the tester.

To enhance measurement accuracy, the SMFT-1000 comes with the Fluke IRR2-BT wireless irradiation meter. This companion device provides real-time irradiance and temperature data, allowing for precise I-V curve measurements. The IRR2-BT wirelessly connects to the SMFT-1000, ensuring seamless data communication. Even if communication is interrupted, the IRR2-BT can continue to record data for up to 17 hours, which can be uploaded at a later time. With a wide measurement range of 50 to 1400 W/m² and a temperature range of -30°C to 100°C, the IRR2-BT facilitates instant measurements to determine the watts per square meter solar irradiation required by IEC 62446-1 standards. The included mounting bracket ensures accurate irradiance and temperature readings at the PV panel.

For compliance with PV systems IEC regulations, the Fluke SMFT-1000 offers a visual inspection setting. Users have the ability to record observations to the internal memory, download them to the Fluke Trutest™ software, and include them in any generated reports.
