Metrel A 1631 EV Monitoring Cable
The Metrel A 1631 EV Monitoring Cable enables safe and accurate monitoring during AC electric vehicle charging. It allows engineers to measure control pilot communication, proximity pilot resistance, voltage and current while charging is in progress. As a result, testing can be completed without interrupting normal EVSE operation.
Designed for use with compatible Metrel instruments, the Metrel A 1631 EV Monitoring Cable connects directly between an EV and charging equipment. It supports Type 2 connectors and allows reliable testing of AC charging installations up to 32 A. Therefore, it is well suited for commissioning, inspection and maintenance work.
Accurate Charging Analysis
During operation, the cable provides access to CP signal states and PP resistance values. These measurements help verify correct communication between the vehicle and EVSE. In addition, voltage and current values can be monitored in real time to confirm correct system behaviour.
Practical Verification Tools
The Metrel A 1631 EV Monitoring Cable also supports external load simulation up to 13 A using banana plug connections. This enables verification of EVSE energy counters under controlled conditions. Consequently, technicians can confirm charging accuracy and compliance with applicable standards using one compact solution.
