Martindale PD240 Proving Unit
Any device that is used for detection of live voltage, and proving dead, should be tested before and after use to ensure the safety of the user.
The Martindale PD240 is a 240V DC proving unit, which is limited to 2mA, making it suitable for use with digital multimeters and many two pole voltage testers that have an input impedance greater than 120kΩ.
The Martindale PD240 is a convenient pocket-sized, battery powered proving unit that produces a 240Vdc output. A proving unit is essential for the proving of voltage indicators before and after use, in order to follow safe electrical working practices. The Martindale PD240 is current limited to 3.5mA and is suitable for use with neon voltage indicators and with other voltage indicators that have an input impedance greater than 120kΩ. The unit is actuated by microswitch when probes of a voltage indicator are inserted into the probe apertures on front face. The Indicator LED adjacent to probe apertures shows when unit is powered. Switch-mode electronics ensure long battery life. Flush-mounted pocket clip permits stable bench use when desired.
